Shalmai wears many hats- she is an Executive Assistant, a Realtor in Massachussetts and New Hampshire, a family girl, and runs a non-profit called Get There, Start Now, which exists to connect high school students with college scholarships.

Get There, Start Now is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that awards scholarships to high school students in the Merrimack Valley area and provides access to programs and tools designed to provide opportunities for students and parents seeking higher education. The board, composed of volunteers, gives hundreds of hours each year to run the organization, which to date includes over 150 volunteers.

Since 2008, the organization has awarded 32 scholarships. Funds are raised through a combination of our generous supporters and our signature event, the Hallows Eve 5k Fun Run. Our event completely funded through sponsors and donors, coordinated and executed through the assistance of our board members and community volunteers.
